External: Chinese Food Safety Assessment (CFSA), Chinese Food and Drug Administration, key laboratories, test method developers

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Assure Chinese test method national standards do not jeopardize the company’s business
• Engage with CFSA and CFSA expert panel in test method national standard development/revision process and develop action plan to produce data support the company’s position
• Interact with test method national standard developer/laboratory.
• Develop and execute actions that involve multiple external test laboratories to generate necessary support for the company’s position.
• Networking with key laboratories involved in government market sample testing programs.

• Assure the QA labs are coordinated to support innovation projects and in keeping up with Chinese test method national standard development
• Participate in innovation projects that involve new ingredients and new test method development.
• Conduct method development project to generate data and report to support new ingredient application and new product registration.
• Communicate with QA labs to assure compliance with Chinese test method national standards.

• Manage Analytical Science laboratory and organization
• Keep up with the development of analytical instrument and technology.
• Organize and train a highly effective analytical scientist team.

People Management Activities:
1) Administers QA personnel activities;
2) Monitors the personnel performance and efficiency;
3) Provides training and coach to personnel;
4) Creates suitable working atmosphere, communicates directly;
5) Develops Subordinates.

REQUIREMENTS

Educational Attainment Requirement Advanced degree in chemical analysis for food and food ingredients.

Professional background PRIOR EXPERIENCE
1. A total of at least 8 years of experience in food analytical lab.
2. At least 5 years working experiences in American, European, Japanese JV Food Company.
3. At least 3 years analytical lab managerial experience.
4. Strong experience in analytical test methods on various instruments.
5. Experience in engagement with government labs and regulatory agencies.

Expected Areas of Competence TECHNICAL SKILLS
1. Strong technical skills in operating sophisticated analytical instruments.
2. Capability to develop new or improve test methods for new ingredients and environment contaminants in different foods.

MANAGERIAL SKILLS
1. People/team management skills and business management skills;
2. Strong project management capability

1. Strong people skill to networking with government agencies and laboratories.
